Pitaiyo contains something for everyone. We are all children at heart. We all need to play to relieve the stresses of life. Pitaiyo enables the kid in us to play with our bodies in a safe manner. It’s amazing what your body will tell you if you’d only slow down to listen. Pitaiyo enables you to listen to yourself, and feel your body moving in space.
By incorporating the mind-body link within a PITAIYO CLASS you use muscles in a different manner thru strength poses in yoga as well as core and abdominal work within the Pilates segment.

– sorry, we don’t like the ‘senior’ title either but if you are over 60 you are in the right place. This pitaiyo specialty class is done standing or sitting. We will incorporate a chair to assist in standing poses and stretching. You can expect to gain balance, coordination, and strength in a 60+ Pitaiyo class.
- The driven athelte knows the demands of vigorous exercise on the body and the toll it takes on the mind. What the driven athlete neglects is the other side of sport specificity. The Pitaiyo side. For the endurance athlete, the continuous repetitive movements of running, cycling, and swimming tighten and shorten the muscles and overuse injuries abound.
By incorporating the mind-body link within a PITAIYO CLASS the athlete uses muscles in a different manner. Athletes have the opportunity to stretch and strengthen muscles by focusing. This focus transfers into increased sport performance. Another key component in PITAIYO for Athletes is the enhancement of joint range of motion. Hip openers and hamstring lengthening during various positions will challenge and increase flexibility as one progresses in their PITAIYO practice. The athlete must also use smaller, intrinsic muscles in the legs for balance and control. It takes a strong mind, body and spirit to win. Pitaiyo strengthens you to win.
– Ages 4 and up will enjoy the benefits of exercise with out even knowing it because they are having so much fun. Stories promoting health, respect, self-esteem and friendship are linked to movement. Kids will not know how hard they are exercising because poses have cool names (vs. push-up) to enable them to exercise and have fun. We love to help troops and organizations earn their fitness badges by doing Pitaiyo.
